| Pat Clark to Speak on Death Penalty in NYC 7 p.m. – 9 p.m., Monday May 3, 2004, New York City April 29, 2004 Fellowship of Reconciliation Executive Director Pat Clark is scheduled to speak at an important public forum on the death penalty to be held in New York City on May 3. FOR asks as many members and supporters in the New York City area as are able to try to attend. The forum is entitled "Justice on Trial: Racial, Religious and Political Perspectives on the Death Penalty and takes place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Devine, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue, New York City. Clark has worked on death penalty issues for 20 years, including five as executive director of Death Penalty Focus, a California state-wide anti-death penalty organization. While national criminal justice representative at the American Friends Service Committee, Clark founded and directed the Religious Organizing Against the Death Penalty Project. Clark, who has had two members of her family murdered, was for many years an office bearer in the Murder Victims Families for Reconciliation, an organization of families of murder victims who oppose the death penalty. Clark has carried that commitment over to her work with FOR. At Monday's forum, she will be joined by former Illinois Governor George H. Ryan, the Rev. Dr. James A Forbes, Jr., of the Riverside Church, Rabbi Peter J. Rubinstein of the Central Synagogue, and David Kaczynski, executive director of New Yorkers Against the Death Penalty.
